Auto Repair Franchise Christian Brothers Automotive Corporation Founder Named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist. Mark Carr Recognized Fourth Time for Business Excellence.
Houston, Texas (June 2010) – Mark Carr, founder and CEO of
Automotive Franchise Christian Brothers Automotive Corporation (CBAC), has been selected as a finalist for the 2010 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for the Houston and Gulf Coast area. This is the fourth time Carr has been recognized as a finalist for this prestigious award.
According to Ernst & Young LLP, the awards program recognizes entrepreneurs who demonstrate extraordinary success in the areas of innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Recognized globally, the award honors the most outstanding entrepreneurs who inspire others with their vision, leadership and achievement.
“It is an honor to be selected as a finalist among an elite group of business professionals who make a consistent effort to set the bar high when it comes to being a strong business leader,” said Carr. “Christian Brothers Automotive Corporation prides itself on upholding ethical business practices with honesty, integrity and reliability at the core of our business model.”
Carr was one of 36 finalists to be selected by an independent judging panel comprised of fellow entrepreneurs and leading figures from the business, financial and academic communities in our area.
Carr opened the first Christian Brothers Automotive location in Houston, Texas in 1982 with the intention to create a “positive culture shock” in the automotive segment that would change the way customers viewed the “dirty and dingy” industry. Today, Christian Brothers Automotive Corporation has grown to more than 70 locations nationwide, with each automotive repair site featuring hardwood floors, leather couches, decorative artwork and lighting. The faith-based operation focuses on serving each client with honesty, integrity and reliability with exceptional customer service.
Award recipients will be revealed at a gala event on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at the Omni Houston Hotel.
The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards program is celebrating its 23rd anniversary this year. It has expanded to recognize business leaders in more than 135 cities in 50 countries. Regional award winners are eligible for consideration for the national award, which will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, Calif., Nov. 13, 2010.
