As predicted by the Old Farmer’s Almanac once again, this winter was the coldest and most brutal most of us have seen or will see in our lifetime, which is what makes today so exciting. Friday, March 20th is officially the end of winter for the Northern Hemisphere! Plus, it’s International Day of Happiness, sponsored by the United Nations, which means you have even more reason to smile.
Besides welcoming warmer weather with open arms, we can admire the beautiful flowers and greener nature, taste seasonal fruits and vegetables, enjoy the outdoors and grilling out, soak in the sun and Vitamin D (make sure to wear sunscreen), and live happier from the beauty and warmth surrounding us.
Here are 10 things you can do to make someone's day a little brighter:
Smile at each person you make eye contact with
Help someone in need
Say “thank you” and be appreciative of others
Call your loved ones just to say “I love you”
Perform acts of kindness, no matter how small or big
Volunteer your time or donate money to a great cause
Answer the phone with a happy tone
Compliment as many people as possible
Allow someone in a hurry to cut in front of you in line
Be kind all day long despite negativity that may come your way
Hopefully these few suggestions will brighten up your day and everyone around you, while enjoying the start of the spring season. Although most of us will be enjoying the warm temperatures, it also means that some are experiencing the aftermath of the brutal winter including property damage. Don’t hesitate to Call Paul if you have any property damage caused by fire, water, mold or storms. We’re here to help!
