Restaurant Franchise Group Named Twin Peaks Franchisee Of The Year. Avalanche Food Group honored during IFA’s Public Affairs Conference.

ADDISON, Texas (Sept. 2011) – Houston brothers Joe, Ricky and John Rosa and close family friend, Andrew Thomas, have been named Franchisee of the Year by Twin Peaks Restaurants and were recognized on Sept. 13-14 at the International Franchise Association’s (IFA) Public Affairs Conference in Washington, D.C.
The group created The Avalanche Food Group in 2009 to purchase a Twin Peaks
franchise after watching a news report on Nightline detailing new restaurant concepts that were thriving in a down economy.
“We were looking for the right concept to invest in,” said Ricky Rosa. “After watching that special and meeting with Twin Peaks executive team, it was clear Twin Peaks was the right fit for us.”
The Rosa brothers were no strangers to the
restaurant business. Their parents owned an Italian restaurant, which the brothers helped run. Ricky had also owned and operated his own restaurants for more than 30 years prior to becoming a Twin Peaks franchisee.
Today, the group has one location near Houston and another scheduled to open this fall. The group plans to open an additional five restaurants over the next six years.
“The Avalanche Food Group is very deserving of this award,” said Twin Peaks CEO Randy DeWitt. “They operate the most successful franchise location in our system and are excellent representatives of everything we stand for.”
The 12th annual IFA Public Affairs Conference took place Sept. 13-14 at the JW Marriott in Washington, D.C. The Twin Peaks franchisees were honored on Tuesday, Sept. 13, at the Leadership & Franchisee of the Year Awards Dinner.
Named a 2010 “Hot Concept!” by Nation’s Restaurant News, Twin Peaks has 15 locations throughout Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas, and is scheduled to add six more by the end of 2011.
About Twin Peaks:
Founded in 2005 in the Dallas suburb of Lewisville by successful restaurant veterans Randy DeWitt and Scott Gordon to meet the needs of an untapped market, Twin Peaks features made-from-scratch food and ice cold draft beer served by friendly and attractive Twin Peaks Girls in a mountain sports lodge setting. In 2008, Jack Gibbons, another successful restaurant veteran, joined the company as President. Named a "2010 Hot Concept!" by Nation's Restaurant News, the chain has 15 restaurants in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, and New Mexico, and expects to nearly double that number by the end of next year.
