Rainbow Academy Early Learning Centers is built upon the foundation of creating genuine, caring relationships with every member of the Rainbow Academy family. The company created a Circle of Care that builds a supportive, nurturing culture for parents, employees, franchisees, vendors and most importantly, ensures the educational success and well-being of each child.
Founded in 1997 by Guy and Julia Falzarano,
Rainbow Academy first opened its doors in Iselin, NJ, quickly expanding to ten centers operating in six counties — Bergen, Hunterdon, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris and Union. The family-owned business now employs more than 350 people, serving 1500 families.
In January, the organization formed a
franchise company, with plans to expand the brand throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York and Connecticut. “It became evident that
franchising was the best way for us to expand and control the brand that we have worked so hard to build,” says Mr. Falzarano. In 2011, three more centers are scheduled to open and the pipeline is quickly filling up.
Rainbow Academy serves children aged six weeks through Kindergarten, emphasizing balance between nurturing care and quality education to create the supportive learning environment and trusting, healthy bonds families enjoy and cherish.
Parents play a critical role in shaping the Academy’s offerings. By encouraging parental feedback, the company has its finger on the pulse of what today’s working parents need most: peace of mind. This has led to specially-tailored services, including year-round programs with extended hours, flexible schedules, and the ParentView® Internet Monitoring System, allowing parents to stay connected to their child via a secure Internet connection.
The staff is the backbone of the organization, and
Rainbow Academy has seen high employee retention and low turnover since its inception, due to its commitment to training beyond industry standards and unique development programs such as its Director Development Program and Mentors & Specialist Program. “Our staff is an integral part of our circle of care and we know that if they’re happy, creative and empowered, then this will flow to the children and parents,” says Mr. Falzarano.
Those that are closest to the Falzarano’s know that their family extends far beyond blood. To prove this, one need only to see the many parents and children alumni who return to the centers year after year. Just as their own family continues to grow and evolve, so do the families touched by the Academy. “We have come full circle,” says Mr. Falzarano. “This year for the first time, one of our first students from our Iselin center is now an employee. Now that is a true circle of care!”
